- Run Outlook 98/2000
- Click on the Tools menu and can either choose
Accounts... or
Services (your installation should have one or the other)
Tools menu -> Accounts... version
- Click the Add button and choose Mail
- Display name is your name as you wish it to appear click
Next
- Email name is your email address, click Next
- In Email Server Names
- The incoming mail server is POP3.
- Incoming mail (POP3) server is yourdomainname
- Outgoing mail (SMTP) server is yourdomainname
- click Next
- Internet Mail Login
- Account name is your email username. ie fred@yourdomainname - same as your email address
- Password is your email account password.
- click Next
- Select your connection method and click Next
- Click Finish
- Click the Properties button to edit the profile.
- Click the Servers tab
- Under Outgoing Mail Server, check the My server
requires authentication box.
- Click OK then click Close
Tools menu -> Services version
- Click the Add... button or select your profile from the
list and choose Properties...
- If adding a new profile, select Internet Email and click
OK
- On the General tab fill in the name you wish to give this
service, your name and email address.
- Click on the Servers tab.
- Outgoing mail (SMTP) is yourdomainname
- Incoming mail (POP3) is the name of your host server
as yourdomainname
- Account name is your email username.
- Password is your email account password.
- Under Outgoing Mail Server, check the My server
requires authentication box.
- Click the OK button. An Add Service To Profile box will
appear. Click the OK button, exit the Outlook email program
and re-start it so that your new Service will take effect.
